A brand new day!

Well, As Lisa'a phone used to say, "It's a brand new day"! I am feeling good. I got up, worked out, which was hard. I am so out of shape since I'd quit running when I started spotting. It will get better though.

Cleaned my room, did some laundry, need to clean the kitchen but I am avoiding that. The basement is a disaster as I let so many things go while I was pregnant. I just felt so tired. I am getting my energy back which I am excited about.

My brothers- in-law are doing a mini triathlon this summer. I'd love to do that but I might drown. I know I could do the 5k, I know I could bike 7 miles if it were flat the whole way!! But the swimming thing? It think it's a half mile. It is 800 meters. How far is that? Anyway, I think I will just try to do a 5k that I can run all the way through without walking.

I love this time of year. It is that time of year that makes me wan to run and me fit. I love the springtime and that itch to move. Maybe I'll try the pregnancy thing thing again sometime but I don't know. We'll see. In the mean time, I am going to become a fitness guru! I just need a goal to work toward. Something to wrap my mind around. So there it is.

Fourty laps in the pool is 800 meters. We used to do twenty warm up and twenty warm down, every practice. It isn't that far!

You could do it.

see, I could do the swiming but the other stuff, YIPES.

I miss my phone saying, "It's a Brand New Day", I am glad you remembered.

I am still sicker than a dog. Goodness.

A fitness guru. OH MY LANDS, I won't be able to stand it. Can't you just be the chocolate guru?

I can't talk. My voice is totally gone, but don't think for a minute you have slipped of my radar.

There is a good story linked from my place from the New Era, go read it, it will make you smile.

You're a good kiddo Charlie Brown.

*HUGS*

Hey, I'm here getting caught up on your blog. I'm so sorry that you are having a hard time.

I've got to get back into the running thing too! It's been way too long. I'm thinking I need to add a ticker to my blog so everybody can hold me accountable:) But then again, being lazy is nice too! And then there is chocolate. LOL.

Hey - I did a little mini-tri (the saratoga splash tri-for-fun) two summers ago. it was only like 250 m swim, 12 mile bike, and 5K run. (I walked, since I'm NOT a runner...) I came in LAST place (excepting the girl that came in after me, due to getting a flat tire) but since my only goal was to finish - and since I was doing it as a nursing mother (Bryan was 7 months old at the time of the race) and with basically NO prior training, (unless you count the 4 times I rode my bike a couple miles - literally, or the 5 times I went and swam a few laps at the pool while we took the kids swimming...) I actually would like to do it again someday - with some real-ish type of training, but we'll have to see what happens...

anyway... if you were serious about wanting something to "wrap your mind around" in the triathalon arena - you could train for the tri-for-fun this year. It is sponsered by the desert sharks of utah. They have moved the venue from Saratoga Springs out to Tooele - so it's a bit closer for you, and best of all - they allow TEAMS, so if I understand correctly, you could have Lisa do your swim then she could sit and eat chocolate while you go nuts on the rest... they have both an Adult Short Course Race (Swim 200m, Bile 9 miles, Run 5K) as well as the Adult Long Course Race (Swim 600 m, Bike 18 miles, Run 5K) Here's the link if you want more info: http://www.desert-sharks.com/sharks_splash.html

Anyway - It's good to see you feeling atad bit better and motivated to look ahead to good things. (My prayers are still with you, as I know there will be additional moments of grieving ahead - but I know you'll sail through with flying colors!)

First, I lovw changeand his change is very nice...a good new look for your blog!
Second, I am happy that you are feeling somewhat better. Hang in there.
Third, the idea of running makes me so jealous! I used to run all the time. I loved long distance and being along with my thoughts. I am excited for you and your training, for the antiscipation that comes before a long run, and for the opportunity to set a goal and go for it! Good luck kiddo, we're pulling for you.
