I have registered for the LDS Storymakers conference in April! WOOO HOOO!
I'm on my way! I also signed up for a Pitch session with Lisa Mangum who looks for new stories for Shadow Mountain and Deseret Book! I can't wait! This is my chance! I also plan to enter the first chapter contest, go the the Whitney Awards dinner, swim in the pool, meet new people, and make lasting friendships.
I have a feeling that this is one of those opportunities that can change my life.
So, an update on my psychosis! lol I went to the doctor, he prescribed me Wellbutrin, (because that is the one that sounded best to me and I have tried various others in the past and didn't like them), went to fill it and my insurance wants to charge me $80.00! And that is for the generic brand! I don't think so.
So I will take your advice, try the Bio-35, and hope it works wonders. The doctor did say he considered me only mildly to moderately depressed. Hmmm. That's good I guess. So, I'll let you know what happens. Oh, by the way, I called my insurance company, and they said that the eighty bucks was part of my prescription deductible. ARGGGGG! That's all I have to say about that. Don't want to use any four letter words after all.

Welbutrin (retail) costs $198 and some change....How do I know this? Because my insurance stinks! But I pay it every month because IT IS WORTH IT!!
The vitamins are good-but if you are a candidate for Welbutrin, they probably aren't going to work like you hope they will (they basically are just more vitamin B, C, and D in higher doses...)
Look at it this way--If you have SAD, then come Spring, you might not need it, and therefore, no more co-pay...Plus, Welbutrin is known to not have any of the "bad" side effects, like weight gain, or a decrease in sex drive...In fact, Welbutrin has been linked to weight LOSS...There are days when I think that if I had to choose between insulin, and my Welbutrin, I'd pick the Welbutrin!!!!!
You know how I feel about insurance companies....they will have their own special place in hell....
We must have the same insurance!!! lol.
I just have such a hard time wanting to fork over eighty bucks! Guess I'm cheap. The weight loss part really interests me though! Maybe I'll do it. If I don't feel an improvement in the next week, I'll go get it.
If the $80 is your insurance deductible, it may go down, once you've met that deductible.
A month or two ago I was getting some prescriptions for Eric (who had just been added to the insurance plan I have at work), and I was really discouraged with how expensive they were. When I called my insurance company, I was told that it was for my deductible. The next time I went to get the prescription, we had met the deductible, and they were MUCH less expensive.
You might find out when your insurance year starts. If it's on a calendar year, wait until January. There's no sense meeting the deductible twice, ya know?
Ya, that's how it is. The deductible
starts over in Jan. It's makes me not want to pay it now!
Several people I know take Welbutrin and love, love it. and I believe insurance companies are a scheme--I hate them so very much and that's lame they charge $80. If I were you (which I'm not and I haven't had to go on anti-depressants, yet) I would get the bio-35 and try it for a month. If you don't notice an improvement (I noticed it right away, it took my husband a week--we can both tell if one of us misses it for a day or two) If it doesn't work, start the new year deductible with the Wellbutrin. It's certainly worth the $80 if it allows you to function better, but if the Bio-35 works then, hey, that's a good thing. It's a white bottle with a black label and a green sticker on top of the lid. Good luck.
And super great that you registered for the conference! I'm excited to see you there, you won't regret it. Sorry I wasn't home when you called but I think you chose wisely--Lisa is great.
I'm so excited you're coming to the conference!! I look forward to this conference every year more than I do Christmas or birthdays or ... well, anything. :) See you there!
